The Sweet Escape

My boyfriend and I went for a little getaway. We wanted an island where there is clear blue sea water and white sands and perhaps somewhere nearby. You know, where it’s all sunny and pretty beaches, perfect resorts and just a small island where it is all private and not too crowded.. Okay, lets just say it already! The word is Romantic. Hee. 🙂

We came up with a few places. Tioman, Sibu Island, Langkawi and Serawak. Problem was, we wanted everything to be convenient and not clashing with any of our schedules. So we slowly crossed them out one by one…

He then asked me what Bintan was like. Bintan used to be my family and relatives’ favourite vacation spot. We used to go there almost every year and would book a whole 2 story high bungalow with 3 bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. Boy do I miss those times… So I told him Bintan would be perfect. Damn, I was right.

Eventually, without any delay whatsoever, we booked our hotel, ferry, etc., and headed straight to Bintan, Indonesia. The Sweet Escape…

On the ferry to Bintan. 45 minutes only! 🙂

While waiting for our room to be ready, we started off the vacation with the usual– Pig out! 😀

Angsana Resort

We’ve booked the outdoor spa before we arrived and were so amazed by everything. From the view to the service, it was without a doubt an unforgettable experience.

Fried Kway Teow

Lemon Chicken

Chicken Sate with Peanut Sauce

We woke up the next day and it was raining so we chose to have an early lunch instead of going to the beach. We got on the buggy and went to Banyan tree (Treetop) to have lunch there. It was soo good. As soon as the rain stopped, we didn’t wanna miss the chance to enjoy the beautiful view so we had our dessert outside where it was pretty hot but worth the experience.

Banyan Tree Resort Lobby

Mi amor had this delicious Pizza.

I had Fish & Chips.

Clear sea water!!

Beauty.

After we were done with the dessert, we went back to our hotel room and got ourselves ready for the beach!

The beach was kept clean and the sea water was so clear and warm. We had a great time!

For dinner, we visited Banyan Tree, Cove. They had rules. Their rules were men with a sleeveless top will have to put on their Batik shirt and women with hotpants will have to cover their bare legs with a Sarong. Lol. That’s the first. I was wearing a tube top!? Anyway, I just thought it was weird yet interesting. Mi amor looked so cute in it. Hee.

Mango Sticky Rice.Satay, Gado-Gado, Crab and the yummy Fried Corn Cake.DessertHe called himself ‘The Rice Master.’ Lol.

Peach Iced Tea, Crackers with Peanut Sauce and Sambal, Mai Tai Gado Gado Rolls, Coconut Soup and Fried Fish Cake.Just chilling… Clear water!!!It was simply relaxing and breathtaking. Despite the super hot weather and costly expenses, Bintan was just awesome.
